AMERICAN ATHEISTS ANNOUNCES BEST SELLING AUTHOR A.C. GRAYLING AS KEYNOTE SPEAKER FOR 2013 NATIONAL CONVENTION

Cranford, NJ – American Atheists President David Silverman announced British philosopher and author, A.C. Grayling as its 2013 convention keynote speaker.

Grayling is Master of the New College of the Humanities and a Supernumerary Fellow of St Anne’s College, Oxford. Until 2011, he was Professor of Philosophy at Birkbeck College, University of London. He has written and edited twenty books on philosophy and other subjects; among his most recent are, The Good Book, Ideas That Matter, Liberty in the Age of Terror, and To Set Prometheus Free. 

The 2013 Convention will host more than 1,500 atheists at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas, March 28-31, 2013, where Madalyn Murray O’Hair founded the organization 50 years ago.

Silverman, stated, “We are thrilled to have Dr. Grayling join us for our national convention and 50^th anniversary celebration. His contributions to the discussion about religion and humanist ethics in contemporary society are vital to the atheist community.”
