How To Be A Young Activist

This page is meant to give you an idea of how you can be an activist in your own community.  Listed below are only a few of the many things you can do as an individual to make a difference (and qualify for our scholarship).

  • Form  or take a leadership role in a local or school Atheist club
  • Lead or participate in a protest movement against an illegal religious movement in your school
  • Sponsor or participate in a debate
  • Write a letter to your congressman, Senator or local politician (in most cases, you will get a form letter back, which you can use as evidence for your Scholarship application).
  • Write a letter to you school or local newspaper (send us the clipping)
  • Sponsor the Atheist Viewpoint.  This is usually free, and makes a big difference.  send email to avtv@atheists.org for more details
  • Build a web page on Atheism.

How many more can you think of?
