The RELIGIOUS LIBERTY PROTECTION ACT
Violating the separation of church and state, and creating special rights for religion!

This is an index of all articles on the American Atheists web site about the Religious Liberty Protection Act and its precursor, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). Articles are in chronological order, with the latest links at the top.

RLPA is modeled on the older Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Although RFRA was declared unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme, it has been re-introduced as the Religious Liberty Protection Act. The RFRA label is used often to identify state legislation, as in California, New Jersey, Maryland and elsewhere. This legislation holds government to a "compelling interest/least restrictive means" test when dealing with faith-based organizations and practices.
