The Portland Oregonian newspaper praises Atheist Nancy Powell for her courageous battle to stop local schools from allowing the Boy Scouts to recruit in classrooms during the school day. BSA continues its discriminatory policy of refusing admission to gay and Atheist youth. “Even though Nancy Powell lost her courtroom battle, she made an important point, and the reverberations are still being felt. We only wish the Boy Scouts would acknowledge those reverberations, too, by opening up their membership ranks to all boys.”
