                Atheists Label Baptists' Disney Boycott
                     Just Another Reason to Hate
     "IBM grants the same benefits - will SBC throw away computers?"


    American Atheists today blasted the Southern Baptist Convention on their
resolution to boycott Disney organizations as a "well preserved vestige of
their Civil War mentality."
    As reported in the national media, the Southern Baptist Convention voted
at their yearly convention in Dallas, Texas, to boycott Disney theme parks,
retail outlets, and all affiliated companies because of "pro-homosexual
practices."
    "The Baptist's ploy is not to hurt Disney simply because they can't.
But the SBC, since 'apologizing' for slavery last year, needs someone to hate.
It's part of their theology.  This is a direct attack on the gay community's
attempt to be treated equally under the law," stated Atheist Spokesman
Ronald Barrier.
    American Atheists agreed with Delahaye CEO Ms. Katherine Paine that this
was a media ploy for free advertising by SBC rather than a sincere attempt to
correct an injustice.
    "If Richard Land and the other Baptists had any consistency of conviction,
they would throw away their computers as well - IBM, along with many other
major corporations, also grants health benefits to gay couples," suggested
Mr. Barrier.

    American Atheists has offered to pickup any computers discarded by the SBC.
