                          IT'S "CHRISTMAS"
            -- AND WHAT DO YOU THINK MILLIONS OF ATHEISTS
              AND OTHER NONBELIEVERS DO FOR THIS SEASON?

    You might wonder what nearly 10% of the American population -- over
25,000,000 people -- do at this time of the year when the "Christmas" season
rolls around.  This is one of the most "sacred" times of the year for
Christians and Jews.  But what about atheists?
    For many persons who have no religious belief, this time of the year
marks the Winter Solstice (December 21, 3:07p.m. EST) season - a natural
holiday commemorating the time of the year when the sun reaches the lowest
point in its annual journey across the sky.  What better excuse to party,
give (and receive!) presents, and have a good time?
    You might want to investigate how many atheists celebrate this time of
year.  American Atheists can help.  Did you know, for instance, that American
Atheist Press offers a variety of Winter Solstice gifts products, including
our famous Solstice Cards?  Some are funny, some serious, and others...
well, you'll have to decide.  We would be more than happy to talk with you
about our "alternative to the Christmas" season, and let you in on some
not-too-closely guarded secrets about how godless atheists spend these
"holy" holidays.
    Find out how atheist families enjoy this time of year -- you might be
surprised to talk to an atheist "soccer mom" and see what she tells the kids
about Santa and Jesus Christ!
