Seven Moslems killed in Hyderabad, India

There are an estimated 130 million Muslims in India, a country of 1.1 billion people.

India's worst religious violence in recent years was in 2002, in the western Gujarat state. More than 1,000 people, most of them Muslim, were killed by Hindu mobs in revenge attacks after a train fire killed 60 Hindus returning from a religious pilgrimage. Muslims were blamed for the train fire.

A series of terrorist bombings have hit India in the past year, including the July bombings of seven Mumbai commuter trains that killed more than 200 people. Most of the bombings have been blamed on Muslim militants based in neighboring Pakistan, India's longtime rival.

Isn't religion wonderful for the great job it does in bringing people together in loving admiration of their creator? I just cannot imagine why we atheists do not want to be a part of this loving activity.

Not true, actually.

They will kill their own young. They just prefer to do it ex-utero.

They will kill other christians not of their particular sect. Our jails are full of these xians.

They'll kill abortionists.And Homosexuals.

They'll kill their abusive preacher husbands.

Oh, and they'll kill indiscriminately by witholding birthcontrol and information thereof.

I'm sure I'm leaving out a lot, but there's a short list for ya.

I believe Sam Harris pointed out that terrorists are actually the ones most accurately fulfilling scripture. How do I know Christian scriptural divisiveness dwarfs altruism. The Bible tells me so.

So all this violence and hatred is literally and religiously appropo?
All in the name of divine love and wisdom?

p.s. CNN webpage has video of religious stoning to death of 17 yr old girl for "dating" boy of "wrong religion"....as mark twain(huck finn) would ask if he were here today...."what the hell is the matter with everybody????"

Yeh, saw that CNN story. We should probably expect to see more of this in the states when the influx of Iraqi refugees start pouring into the US. You can be damn sure that BushCo supporters won't be putting out the welcome mats in their towns. Ironically they will probably be most tolerant of Iraqi Baathists since they are largely secular and less likely to be perceived as "islamists".
