Did you attend the Paul Hill Days Celebration?

That's right. On July 26 to 29, 2007 in Milwaukee, WI, the Neocon wing nuts held a memorial for the Christian Terrorist Paul Hill complete with re-enactment of his crime:

Saturday, July 28

Early am - abortion mill demonstration

10:00 am – Public preaching

11:00 am – Re-enactment

11:30 am – News conference

12:00 pm – Parade

12:30 pm – Pizza in the park

Evening – Picnic tba

Okay, so there is no end to the craziness of these Neocon theocratic wing nuts. They have declared war on secular America and are spilling the blood of innocent doctors. I know their position, but it doesn't alter the fact that these medical professionals murdered by Christian terrorists like Hill and Rudolph were engaged in legal activities that is responsible for stopping the butchering of innocent girls and women by supplying them with professional medical care. It is totally indefensible for the Neocon theocratic wing nuts to hold celebrations to memorialize murderers. So who is for pizza in the park with your favorite homegrown religious domestic terrorist?

Also, in my local news (Green Bay, WI), a 10 month old girl was raped at a church daycare... allegedly.

Most of the people who believe that abortion is murder also support the death penalty. So, logically, those people would say that women who have abortions, and their doctors, should get the death penalty.

I know people are going to jump all over me for saying this but...

Christian whack-jobs who murder abortion providers are not terrorists. The reason why they murder these doctors is because they believe that they are justifiably killing a guilty person. Terrorists indiscriminately target whomever in order to intimidate a larger group.

You may say that other doctors are intimidated by these actions, and I'm sure they are, but that's true to an extent for all crime. For example, in every major city there are areas where people fear walking down their own street because of the crime that goes on in their neighborhood. But by and large the street thugs who perpetrate that crime are not terrorists.

If you want to call them terrorists though because of the fear they inspire, then the definition of the word terrorism would be so broad as to be meaningless.

I do want to make clear that I in no way sympathize with people who murder abortion providers, and I condemn they're actions in the strongest possible terms. It's just a major pet peeve of mine that whenever anyone does anything bad then their labeled as terrorists, whether or not the label actually fits.

Somehow calling them murderers isn't enough. I don't get it.

it goes on, in one section refers to persons underming efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in iraq.
the persons in question are american citizens.in effect if you disagree with administration policy on iraq they can take you property with no judicial or legislative review.the burden is on you to get your property back no one can help you because then they are at jeopardy of losing their property.

Fear is definitely part of the goal of these actions. There is a fanaticism as well involved. They are using illegal means to stop a legal practice on what they perceive as, moral grounds. But, technically Apple is right they are not terrorist. Terrorism refers to a specific kind of attack that is designed to make everyone fear, all the time. When they start bombing buildings or even neighborhoods nearby. They are then being indiscriminate in the methodology. I am sure there are those in the movement that fit the profile and maybe even planning such broad attacks. But the methods so far are to disrupt(bomb threats), picket, and occasionally punish an individual.

My impression of what a terrorist is, is someone who kills (or otherwise harms) indiscriminately. I don't think Paul Hill et al. fit the bill.

But then again perhaps my feeling of what terrorism is doesn't jibe with the majority opinion. And that would make me wrong, even if I still believe my definition of terrorism is more useful as a word and concept than a broader sense of the term.

Unfortunately it's not up to me ;-)

I do feel like the words "terror", "terrorism", and "terrorist" are evolving, and it would be interesting to see how the senses of these words have changed over the years (if indeed they have). I'm certainly not the one to do that kind of research though.

I disagree. I think people like Paul Hill and Eric Rudolph are terrorists because their actions are intended to inspire terror in abortion providers, as well as to "defend the unborn." It's like the 9/11 terrorists; they sought both to kill Americans and to terrorize Americans they did not kill.

You say that you don't believe Hill or Rudolph are terrorists because they conducted murder. The pro-forced pregnancy people do not just engage in murder though. They also hound the little children of doctors in their schools, they terrorize medical personnel at their homes, they conduct arson and bombings and then plant anti-personnel bombs to go off when police and fire rescue show up for the first instance. Yes Apple, these are all examples of Christian Terrorists, whether you are peeved or not.
