Total Lunar Eclipse tonight

God doesn't want NJ to see the eclipse, but he might let you. Check it out at moonrise if you have clear skies.

The moon is displeased with us and has dissapeared! Perhaps we should throw a virgin sacrifice into the volcano! The gods are unhappy! The sky is falling-it's the end of the world! Everyone panic and run around in circles and scream!

(is this scenario really any different from modern religion? we no longer fear eclipses because of SCIENCE)

The blood drinking christians will be salivating tonight! Nice red moon just out of reach, oh how the cruel christian god-idea taunts its believers. All the christians want is a little sip of the blood.

No disappearing (clouds excepted) but, a beautiful color change.

Yes, the clouds did indeed clear away and give NJ a nice view. Next eclipse in 2010.

BTW, for those viewing, that's Saturn just to the left

Since we're all fanatacising like good x-ians here:

I got rained in today, damn those gods of the four corners of the flat dissapearing mooncheese! John McCain ought to order the US NAVY to launch a missile or two at those invading angels of fiery chariots in the sky over the hellish beasts of sea the Hawiian Islands.

That was wicked cool. Clouds cleared, and I have to say, the moon looked rather bizarre during the eclipse. My wife remarked that it looked like a giant jawbreaker.

Can't wait for the next one.

I guess Dog likes me better than other heathens, seeing as how she cleared the sky for me.

Truly a thing of beauty last night. We had great clear skies here. Beloved and I sat in the dark and watched it through. It's always good fun to watch our solar system at work. Even more so when some phuquewits cowardly imaginary friend isn't getting in the way.

I got a good glimpse of it where I am. Too bad all those government sponsored prayers for more rain ruined it for so many people.
