CHICAGO, ILFriday, March 14, 2003 Please join our peaceful demonstration in downtown Chicago directly in front of the Hilton hotel on Michigan Avenue where the Faith-based Initiative Conference is being held. The conference is an all-day event, 8:30am - 5:45pm, and although the official protest hours are 11:00am - 1:00pm our protesting can extend outside of that time window. We'll be in a high visibility location. Michigan Avenue is one of Chicago's most important streets. The hotel is on one side of the street, and the lovely Grant Park is on the other side. There will be lots of vehicle and foot traffic (including college students), presenting a great opportunity to enlighten the passersby. Signs will be available for you to use, or you can make your own. Parking in downtown Chicago during weekday business hours can be difficult. Street parking will likely be non-existent. There are several parking facilities near the hotel which may have some spots. They are listed below.
