Breaking Down Barriers

Building Bridges & Partnerships

We know we are stronger when we stand together.

The fight for religious equality and the rights of atheists is part of the broader civil rights movement in America.

Atheists exist in every community and demographic. We are people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, women, and immigrants. We understand that the fight to protect religious equality and the rights of atheists is linked to the broader fight for rights of all people.

Our opponents don’t operate in a silo — and we cannot afford to either.

Strategic Partnerships

We build deep working relationships with leading national organizations fighting for reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ equality, public education, and a range of other issues that are important to our members.

By aligning with groups who share our values, we ensure that the perspectives of atheists are represented at the table.

Mobilizing the Grassroots

We don’t just sign on to joint letters — we show up. We connect our grassroots activists directly with partner organizations on the ground.

Whether it’s rallying for abortion rights, marching to oppose the abuses of ICE and the White Christian Nationalist movement, or showing up to school board meetings to oppose attacks on public education, we empower our members to lend their voices and energy to the causes that reflect our values.

Finding Common Ground

Atheists care about getting things done. By building partnerships with diverse communities who share our values — including faith communities — we break down the stereotypes and show that you don’t need religion to be a force for good in the world.

We change the world for the better done by focusing on the things that unite us — and not the theology that divides us.
