Ahead of America’s 250th anniversary, white Christian Nationalists are shamelessly distorting the meaning of — and outright lying about — our history, our democracy, and our rights. Under the banner of “Freedom 250,” the White House is promoting events and promising exclusive access in exchange for large and unaccountable donations.
Even more brazenly, the religious right is working to rewrite our history, excluding some facts and sanitizing others, all in an attempt to justify their claims that we were founded as a Christian nation.
Here at American Atheists, we are fighting back against this politically motivated misinformation. We are proud to lead the charge to correct their lies and reclaim our country from the oligarchs and special interests behind the Christian Nationalist movement.
Please join us and be part of this crucial discussion. You’ll meet and talk to remarkable people and will walk away feeling energized about what lies beyond the 250th birthday of our country.
If you can’t be there in person, please consider a donation to make these events possible. We are up against the deep pockets of Christian Nationalists and their supporters. We can’t match their millions of dollars, but we have truth and the ideals of democracy on our side. This important work needs your support.
Together, we can stop the attacks on our shared democracy, and the rewriting of history. Thank you for being on our side in this fight.

Increasingly, “anti-Christian” is functioning less as a description of legitimate bias against Christians and more as a way to criminalize any views that diverge from or disagree with a particular strain of White Christian Nationalism.
No other secular civil rights organization that is more committed than American Atheists to organizing people at the state level and equipping them with all the tools, resources, and knowledge they need.
