Vice President, Programs

The Vice President, Programs oversees the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of the national programs of American Atheists within the framework of the organizational vision of American Atheists. As a member of the senior management team, the Vice President, Programs will work directly with the President, members of the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders in strategic planning and in articulating the mission of the organization to the general public and to supporters.

Communications Director

A senior member of the American Atheists staff, the Communications Director develops and implements communications strategies to highlight the work of American Atheists and its positions on matters of public concern. This staff person creates and distributes media content, develops communications strategy, provides communications support for American Atheists leadership, and enhances American Atheists social media and digital presence. The Communications Director serves as  the primary on-the-record source and spokesperson for American Atheists.

Legal and Public Policy Clerkships

Law clerks will work with and report to the Legal staff of American Atheists in our Washington, DC office and will focus on tasks within the legal, public policy, and field departments. Under the direction of the Vice President of Legal and Policy, the law clerks will complete tasks to support the mission of American Atheists by providing assistance with case management, research, client relations, legislative tracking, advocacy-related drafting, and other similar tasks. All law clerks will have areas of primary responsibility, but are often required to be generalists and work creatively to address the ever-changing challenges associated with our work.
