Manual of a Perfect Atheist

Madalyn Murray O’Hair liked this book so much she decided to hand-letter the English translation herself! Don’t be fooled into thinking that this is not a serious critique of religion just because it is filled with wonderful cartoons ? or because ‘Rius’ looks suspiciously like risus, the Latin word for ‘laughter.’ Our author takes on all the big guns of theology and philosophy ? from Thomas Aquinas to Immanuel Kant ? and lets common sense demonstrate that their ‘Proofs of God’ are able to prove the existence of the Christian god about as effectively as they prove the reality of Minerva or Huitzilopochtli. No one who can think and laugh at the same time should be without this book.

About the Author

Eduardo del Rio (a.k.a. RIUS) was born in 1934 in Zamora, Michoacan (Mexico). He started morphing into RIUS after 1955, sprouting from his first cartoons in the magazine Ha-Ha. Prior to this misstep, RIUS was a seminarian, bureaucrat, bottler, soap salesman, office boy, book binder, cashier, professor without title, and gravedigger in Gayosso.
